Ms. Sophie's Scoot No More Dog Biscuits

Ms. Sophie is an 18 to 20 pound rat terrier bred in Caratunk, Maine and living in
Ellsworth, Maine. She had long had a problem that appears to plague small dogs like
her: irritated anal glands. Ms. Sophie would frequently go outside for the sole purpose
of scooting in an attempt to obtain relief.

We periodically took poor Ms. Sophie to see a veterinarian to have her anal glands
manually expressed by a trained professional. Our veterinarian recommended diet and
exercise as control methods for her irritated anal glands, but these efforts were only
successful over the short-term. During a particular flare-up, we decided to research
how to express her glands ourselves to save on veterinarian fees, and quickly
discovered the we were not comfortable with doing this ourselves.

During our research, we discovered that dietary changes could resolve this problem, so
we created Ms. Sophie's Scoot No More Dog Biscuits. About three weeks later, after
scooting daily and receiving two or three biscuits each day, Ms. Sophie suddenly
stopped scooting.

Although Ms. Sophie still periodically scoots, her episodes are much further apart,
considerably less severe, and of significantly shorter duration.
